Why buy 'with properties to rent?'
Britons are increasingly choosing to rent a home rather than buy one, it has been suggested.
In an article for the Independent, Rhiannon Harries said she has now ceased to consider buying a house or flat at all as she is not sure that owning a home is something she still cares about.
"Renting, not buying, is the reality that people in their 20s and 30s have had to accept and, it seems, we are doing so with a willingness that would once have surprised me," she stated.
Ms Harries added that after time spent living in Paris - where she met very few people who rented - her own thinking changed and that she began to find renting a home a "liberating" experience, as it provided mobility amid the recession.
In light of her comments, Britons may also find that property to rent in Kensington and other parts of London affords them the chance to be more flexible in their jobs.
Ms Harries' comments were recently echoed by the Guardian's Penny Anderson, who stated that renting a home was favoured by people who needed to be flexible in their jobs.
