West Kensington residents to help shape local developments
Occupants of flats to rent in West Kensington are being called upon to offer opinions on future plans to develop the local area.
The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is allying with Hammersmith & Fulham Council and the Mayor of London to launch a new consultation on regeneration priorities for the region.
A planning framework is currently being drawn up that will examine the need for new affordable housing and transport links, as well as improved local facilities, noise reduction, air quality and other matters of interest to residents.
Locals are being asked to submit their views on these issues before December 23rd 2011, in order to guide the direction of future planning applications.
This will provide a further boost to the area, which is set to benefit from Earls Court being chosen as the 2012 venue for Olympic volleyball.
It was also announced last week that the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea will welcome the Olympic torch on Thursday 26th July 2012, the final day of its 70-day trip around the UK.
