Tulse Hill: A pleasant and quiet area perfect for young families

Tulse Hill: A pleasant and quiet area perfect for young familiesTulse Hill is a quiet district located in the London borough of Lambeth. It is a popular location among families and is known for being a safe area.

Overall, it is a pleasant place to live, with relatively low levels of crime and anti-social behaviour.

Like most areas in the UK, it does have estates that are a little bit rough, but it is a mostly relaxed place to live.

Education

Tulse Hill is one of the top areas in London for education, with only a small number of people in the area having no qualifications.

In fact overall, the number of those with qualifications equal to one or more GCSE at grade D or below is not only the lowest in London, but also below the national average.

In fact, figures from the UK census show that the number of residents with a higher education qualification (level 4) is significant and also higher than than the national average.

This means that overall, those living in Tulse Hill are more educated than others living in the rest of the country as a whole.

Professions
The UK Census figures also show that Tulse Hill has a high number of people in the area in white collar professions, when compared with the rest of the country.

According to the statistics, the area has 20 per cent more higher and intermediate managerial, administrative or professional households than the UK average.

Demographics

The population of Tulse Hill has the highest ratio of people under the age of 30 living there.

Some 28.8 per cent in the area are in the 30-44 age gap, compared to 20.6 per cent nationally.

Additionally, it also has the highest number of babies and toddlers at 6.8 per cent, compared to 6.3 per cent nationally.

There is also a relatively significant number of 18-24 year olds, compared to 9.4 per cent across the UK as a whole.

Tulse Hill is known for being a relatively diverse location, with a melting pot of different cultures and communities. It also has one of the lowest level of British-born residents when compared to the rest of the UK.

The figures show that across the district as a whole, 11.1 per cent of its citizens are from other European countries, compared to just 3.7 per cent nationally.

In addition, 25.8 per cent of its residents are from countries outside of the EU, compared to 9.4 per cent across England.

Property

A significant proportion of properties in the area are terraced housing. Unlike many other areas in London, the ration of flats and houses is the same, with a 50/50 split.

An average three-bedroom property in the area would set you back around £299,950, with five-bed properties fetching up to £1,100,000.

Like most areas in the city, purchasing property can be relatively expensive. It is for this reason that most people in the area choose to rent.

In fact, according to the Census figures, Tulse Hill has a lower rate of home ownership (either through a mortgage or owned outright) than the national average.

However, rental properties in the district are a much more affordable option for many people.

On average, one-bed properties typically cost around £277 per week, depending upon the type of flat.

Health

Official figures suggest that people in Tulse Hill are generally healthier and happier than citizens across other parts of the country.

The proportion of people rating their health as 'very good' is higher than the national average.

At the same time, the Census figures showed that the number of people who stated they have poor health was lower than the rest of the country.

Conclusion

Overall, the figures suggest that residents in Tulse Hill are generally healthier, more contented and better educated than in other parts of the country.

However, housing in the area is still prohibitive for many people, leading to an abundance of affordable rented accommodation.

Overall, it is an area that is traditionally favoured by many families, due to the quality of schools, diversity and low crime levels.
