Thousands of Shepherd's Bush residents fork out for incomplete Oyster travel
People living in flats to rent in Shepherd's Bush, in the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, frequently fork out too much money for incomplete Oyster journeys.
Caroline Pidgeon, Liberal Democrat leader at the London Assembly, compiled figures from Transport for London (TFL) which revealed 368,000 people in Shepherd's Bush were charged for failing to properly complete their Oyster travel last year.
In the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham, Shepherd's Bush came second only to Hammersmith in terms of incomplete journeys, the data revealed.
Ms Pidgeon said: "This level of overcharging is totally unacceptable. There is something very seriously wrong when each and every week of the year Londoners are ripped off by more than £1 million."
She added: "TFL also need to take immediate steps to make it far easier for people to be able to claim a refund when they have been overcharged."
Recently, the London borough of Hammersmith and Fulham announced there would be a new school opening in Shepherd's Bush - Ark Conway primary - which has already received 63 applications for the 60 places on offer.
