Sutton council praised in new report
Sutton is one of the best places to live in London, a report has suggested.
According to the Audit Commission, the customer satisfaction rating of the borough is higher than any other in the capital, at 81 per cent.
This has come as a result of a number of factors, including the council's recognition of the needs of those living in London.
And Sutton Council was praised for its partnership with the police, which was said to have made it one of the safest boroughs in the capital.
Commenting on the findings, Audit Commission senior manager Howard Simmons remarked: "The Council responds very well to the needs of its communities. Through highly effective partnership working it is achieving its priorities and this is impacting positively on the quality of people's lives."
Some of the best exam results in the country were also found to have been achieved.
This week London mayor Boris Johnson announced that all boroughs would be given an additional £100,000 to improve transport.
