Should Brits give up on owning home?
The UK could soon become more similar to Europe, with people choosing to look for property to rent in London, rather than buying a flat or house.
Such is the claim of housing minister John Healey, who stated that owning a property may now be less of a priority for many Britons.
The Independent reports that more people are now having to rely on financial help from their parents should they choose to buy a home.
Mr Healey stated: "Renting will be more stable, more secure, of a better standard and probably more common an option."
Such comments may inspire Britons to look for flats to rent in Kensington or another part of London, particularly as house prices in the area can be high.
One person who is set to continue renting is last year's X factor winner Alexandra Burke, Digital Spy reports.
She recently told the Mirror that she cannot yet afford her dream home.
