Shoreditch food event 'celebrates London's best'
Food fans renting property in Shoreditch are in luck, as the awards ceremony for the first-ever London Restaurant Festival will be held at a secret location in the borough later this year.
According to the London Evening Standard, the six-day "foodie tour" of the capital will begin on October 8th with a Vanity Fair party featuring over 1,000 restaurants.
During each evening of the festival, 60 tickets will be sold to diners who will enjoy a meal on the London Eye prepared by top chefs.
And on its closing night, October 13th, a brand new restaurant located at a secret site in Shoreditch will play host to an awards ceremony celebrating the best of the festival.
"Why hasn't this been done before? London is an exceptional city and restaurants play a huge part in its warp and weft. That needs to be celebrated," said the newspaper's restaurant critic Fay Maschler, who is chairing the festival.
People renting property in Shoreditch have plenty of dining options to choose from - particularly in the trendy Brick Lane district. According to Squaremeal.co.uk, there are 126 restaurants located within one kilometre of Shoreditch Tube station.
