Shepherds Bush market to expand?
Residents of property to rent in Shepherds Bush and other areas of Hammersmith & Fulham (H&F) such as Hurlingham and West Kensington could be set to benefit from a larger market in the area.
H&F council has set out plans to expand Shepherds Bush Market in order to protect the facility's status as one of the leading destinations in West London.
According to the local authority, it is hoped a scheme can be devised to open up the market area whereby new shops and amenities are introduced to boost the market's reputation further and ensure the whole area is somewhere people want to visit.
Cabinet member for H&F council Mark Loveday said: "Shepherds Bush Market has been the heart of the area for nearly 100 years and we want to make sure it stays that way for the next 100 years."
The site it is currently located on is "very cramped" and is not conducive to major redevelopment, he added.
