Property to rent in Westminster may be popular with cyclists
Those seeking property to rent in the City of Westminster may be among those who enjoy cycling, as new figures from Transport for London (TFL) have shown the mayor's cycle hire scheme has enjoyed the greatest take-up in the area.
A total of 13,632 subscribers to the so-called Boris Bikes service live in the authority, with many of the other areas where the scheme is most popular also being in and around the heart of the city.
Second on the list is Kensington and Chelsea with 8,537, followed by Islington on 6,467 and Camden with 6,095.
London Evening Standard blogger Ross Lydall commented that the scheme had been successful enough to see a take-up in every borough of the capital.
Using bikes may be a good way for those living in Westminster to avoid car costs such as the Congestion Charge without having to pay to go on buses, trains or the Tube.
TFL's stated aim is to increase cycling in London by 400 per cent by 2026 compared to 2001 levels.
