Property prices 'rising slowly'
UK property prices are continuing to rise, albeit at a slower pace than seen in recent months, new research has found.
According to the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Housing Market Survey for last month, 30 per cent more chartered surveyors witnessed an increase than a fall in house prices.
This was down from a 35 per cent increase in November.
And a "significant majority" of surveyors are reporting such increases in London, which may prompt Britons to consider flats to rent in Kensington or elsewhere in the capital, rather than homes to buy in the same area.
RICS spokesperson Jeremy Leaf said: "It is likely that the new year will see more interest and activity in the market as those who held back start to market their property with renewed optimism."
The London Central Portfolio recently claimed property prices in Central London will continue to rise this year.
