Olympics 'will leave lasting legacy in east London'
People looking for property to rent in London have heard how the 2012 Olympic Games will leave a "lasting legacy" in the capital.
Independent research commissioned by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and the University of Westminster has found that the overall regeneration of eastern parts of the city will have a positive impact in areas such as Stratford and Hackney.
RICS chiefs have suggested that vast improvements to transport links in the area will bode well for residents in this part of London.
Minister for sport and the Olympics Hugh Robertson believes the developments have been a "major success story".
"World class parks, sporting facilities and affordable housing will all benefit the lives of East Londoners in the future, leaving a real, local legacy.
The 80,000 Olympic Stadium - which is nearing completion - will also be used after the Games have finished, as Premier League football club West Ham United will relocate from their current Upton Park home.
