Ofsted: Merton primary school 'is outstanding'
Hillcross Primary School has been given an 'outstanding' rating by Ofsted, which could interest families looking for property to rent in the London borough of Merton.
Just three years ago, the school, which is in the Morden area of the borough, was deemed 'inadequate' and placed onto the special measures list.
Headteacher Rachel Jacob, who joined the school in January 2010, said that she was very proud that Hillcross Primary had made such improvements since the Ofsted inspection three years ago.
"At Hillcross we ensure all our children make outstanding progress through our programme of regular reviews and our partnership with parents," she added.
She went on to say that the teachers at the school now try to encourage the pupils to have fun while they are learning.
Last week, governors at Singlegate and William Morris primary schools, in partnership with Merton Council, gave the go-ahead to the first federation of two schools in the borough.
