New scheme to start next week for children living in property to rent in Kingston
A new scheme that aims to help children living in property to rent in the London borough of Kingston-upon-Thames in their transition from primary to secondary school is to be launched next week.
Called the Junior Citizen Scheme, the programme will take place between January 24th and February 4th.
The scheme is being funded and led by Kingston's Early Intervention and Prevention Services and is being hosted by Chessington World of Adventures.
"Members of local organisations will present the children with various potential emergency scenarios to help them prepare for the future," a statement from the Royal borough of Kingston-upon-Thames said about the scheme.
Issues such as fire safety, first aid, drug awareness and anti-social behaviour will be covered.
Another event that is soon to take place in Kingston-upon-Thames is the Youth Speaks competition, which will showcase the public speaking skills and verbal dexterity of children in the borough.
