New lightbulb recycling scheme launched in Lewisham
People living in property to rent in the London borough of Lewisham, as well as others in the area, are set to benefit from a new lightbulb recycling scheme.
Lewisham Council has launched the new initiative, which will help people recycle their energy-saving bulbs.
There are plenty of benefits to be gained from using energy-efficient lightbulbs, but it is important they are disposed of correctly.
The council has now set up recycling facilities in a number of places, including Catford Library, Lewisham Library and the Homebase on Bromley Road.
It is also calling for residents in the borough, as well as businesses, to volunteer to set up more mini recycling points around the area.
Recently, Lewisham residents were invited to join a new apprenticeship initiative.
Called the Lewisham Apprenticeship Scheme, there were up to 40 vacancies up for grabs a couple of months ago, which the mayor, Sir Steve Bullock, said he was "delighted" to hear.
