New bus route due to open
Residents of the London borough of Hammersmith & Fulham are set to benefit from a new bus route, it has emerged.
Transport for London (TFL) announced that route will come into operation on Saturday January 19th, with buses running between Central Middlesex Hospital and Maida Hill.
The number 228 will use single-deck buses, running around every 12 minutes throughout the day and every 20 minutes in the evenings and at weekends.
In addition to providing access to the hospital, TFL noted that it will serve as a convenient link to the Westfield shopping centre and will call at the new White City bus station.
The station opened in November, with director of strategy for surface transport Dick Halle noting that it would help those living in the borough who are older, disabled or carrying baggage.
"This modern bus station has been designed to be easy to use for all passengers," he remarked at the time.
