Mayor's Newham Show hailed a success
People living in flats to rent in the London borough of Newham, as well as others in the area, flocked to see the Mayor's Newham Show last weekend.
Even the miserable weather didn't put people off, as 25,000 headed to Central Park in East Ham for the weekend packed full of entertainment.
Sir Robin Wales, mayor of Newham, said it was great to see so many people gather for the "wonderful family event".
"Once again the Mayor's Newham Show has proved that people enjoy feeling part of their local communities and that is why we will continue to host these fantastic free events," he added.
Newham Carnival kicked off the event, with community groups and schoolchildren making their way through the streets of East Ham.
Recently, Sir Robin embarked on a tour of the new Westfield Stratford City shopping centre in the borough of Newham.
He met construction workers and trainees from new retail skills academy Skills Place Newham.
