London property prices increase again
The latest Land Registry figures suggest it may be better for people to choose property to rent in Merton or flats to rent in Hackney, rather than buy a home.
This is because the average cost of a home in London apparently grew 1.4 per cent in April, compared to March's level.
Property buyers are now looking at an average value of £302,411 if they want to purchase bricks and mortar in the capital city.
With prices at this level, moving into property to rent in Merton or Hackney, or any other part of London, may be more suitable for young professionals.
The Land Registry's housing research, which offers a breakdown of prices across England and Wales is released at the start of each month.
It comes after Nationwide Building Society revealed its property survey for May - a study that said the average value of a UK home went up 1.2 per cent to £154,016.
