London annual house price rise above UK average
People may be considering looking at property to rent in London after new data from the Land Registry showed the average cost of buying a house has increased.
Its House Price Index revealed a 0.2 per cent increase from March to April in the price of purchasing a home in the UK, the sixth month in a row where values have gone up.
Annual comparisons across England and Wales indicated that all regions experienced growth in values, with London seeing the biggest jump in property prices of 14.8 per cent, with the average cost of an abode in the city being £341,487.
The Land Registry states that among its principal aims is maintaining an effective system for registering land in England and Wales.
News that house price rises in the capital have reached almost 15 per cent in the past year may encourage more people to consider looking for property to rent in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham or elsewhere in the city.
