Lewisham residents to help clean up their area
Those living in property to rent in the London borough of Lewisham are being invited to help clean up their local area.
The 2011 Capital Clean Up campaign is holding various events across the borough over the next few weeks.
One of the ways in which locals can help to improve the environment is to clear overgrown pathways and vegetation.
Those who volunteer need not have any experience as full training will be given and they will be supervised when they help out.
The 2011 Capital Clean Up campaign started on Friday (June 10th) and runs until Sunday July 24th.
On this coming Friday (June 17th), a clean up will be taking place on Station Road at Quaggy River from 10:00-14:00 BST.
The borough is also in the midst of Lewisham in Bloom, which awards those who have the best gardens and grounds in the area prizes of £150, £100 and £75.
