Is regeneration improving flats to rent in London?
Those wanting flats to rent in the London borough of Ealing may be pleased to hear that new regeneration projects are planned in the area.
Ealing Council has decided to redevelop the Rectory Park Estate in Northolt, as residents reported three years ago that they were dissatisfied with the area.
There were problems including lack of outdoor spaces, poorly looked after properties and antisocial behaviour, but the authorities now intend to change this.
Many boroughs in London were recently awarded the Green Flag for having outstanding open areas, including Hampstead Heath, Epping Forest and West Ham Park.
Chair of the residents' association John Hopkins said the group was "relieved and delighted" with the news.
"The rebuild of the estate will provide better housing and a decent way of life for everyone," he added.
Work on the project, which has had extensive input from the local residents' Steering Group, is expected to start in two years' time.
