Increased police presence may reassure people in flats to rent in Lewisham
Individuals living in flats to rent in the London borough of Lewisham may be reassured that their home will be safe after police launched a crackdown on burglaries in the area.
Speaking to News Shopper, detective superintendent Si Cunneen stated: "I would like to appeal for support from the community to be vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour."
He added that the emergency service is increasing the number of officers on foot patrol in the borough and is aiming to clamp down on perpetrators who are looking to commit offences in the run-up to Christmas.
In addition to the increased police presence on the streets of Lewisham, Operation Sark will involve a greater number of car searches taking place throughout the area.
According to the news source, a similar operation over the summer led to 366 arrests.
Last month, people living in flats to rent in Lewisham may have attended one of the London Jazz Festival events that were happening in the borough.
