Improvements start on Hoxton Square
Improvement works have begun at Hoxton Square, near to property to rent in the London borough of Hackney.
New plants are to be added to the square and the lawn is to be improved.
On top of this, more seating is to be added, a drinking fountain is being restored and the path around the square is being relayed.
Bat and bird boxes are also being installed to provide a wildlife habitat in the area.
"The work is being carried out as a result of consultation with residents and visitors to determine what kinds of improvements should be made," a statement from Hackney Council has revealed.
Hoxton Square is a popular place among many of those living in the area as it is home to art galleries, restaurants, bars and pubs.
Last month, the council announced that Hackney Museum had joined up with the Centre of the Cell and a number of artists and designers to create an exhibition.
