Hoxton Square to reopen following improvements
Hoxton Square is set to reopen to those living in property to rent in the London borough of Hackney following a number of improvements.
The area has benefitted from new flowers, shrubs and an improved lawn as well as more seating.
A drinking fountain in the square has been restored and the path that runs around the area has been re-laid.
Bat and bird boxes have also been installed to encourage wildlife to flourish in the area.
Councillor Jonathan McShane, Hackney's cabinet member for health, social care and culture, said: "Hackney has some wonderful parks and green spaces that are very popular with residents and visitors."
He went on to say that the council knows how important these are, which is why it is investing in areas like Hoxton Square.
Last month, a new play area opened in Clissold Park, boasting swaying wooden bridges, hollow logs, stone climbing boulders and tractor tyre swings.
It also features a water play feature, a tall climbing web with swings and roundabouts for smaller children.
