Flats to rent in Ealing: New buses please residents
Acton Green is more peaceful and suffers less pollution thanks to recent transport improvements, those in flats to rent in the London borough of Ealing have heard.
After working with Transport for London and bus operator London United, Ealing Council introduced 20 new hybrid buses on the number 94 bus route.
Residents had expressed concerns that Acton Green was suffering from congestion, noise and increased pollution because of the route.
However, the new buses, which are up to 60 per cent quieter and shorter than conventional versions, have helped to alleviate these problems.
Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for transport and environment at Ealing Council, said: "I'm glad that the improvements have had the desired effect and residents are happier."
Last month, it was announced that the local authority has been shortlisted in the London Transport Awards, being in competition for the most improved transport borough and the achievements in cycling categories.
