Flats to rent in Bethnal Green 'near Britain's best new restaurant'
People looking for flats to rent in Bethnal Green may now enjoy some of the UK's greatest cooking after a local restaurant grabbed best new establishment in an annual awards.
The accolade was given to Nuno Mendes's eatery Viajante in Harden's 2011 London Restaurants, which ranks some of the capital's top chefs.
Based at the Town Hall Hotel and Apartments development in Bethnal Green, Mendes's creation has been touted for its innovative style and creative flair.
Talking to Caterersearch, the chef said it was surprising to win the prize considering the restaurant has only been open since April this year.
"We're a bit off the beaten track and are doing something very different to other fine dining restaurants in London so it’s fantastic to be recognised," he explained.
According to Peter Harden, co-editor of the survey, Mendes's experimental style is reminiscent of the culinary talents of TV chef Heston Blumenthal.
