Financial boost for London's small businesses
Businesses in London are set to benefit from a package of support to be made available this month.
The London Development Agency (LDA) is spending a total of £23 million, in order to help small and medium sized businesses continue to thrive in the economic downturn.
Finance will be given to those hoping to start up a company in the capital, while they will also be support for firms that provide regeneration benefits.
LDA chair Harvey McGrath explained that the move would help those living in London, stating: "By investing public money to help London's businesses survive and prosper and help Londoners get and keep a job, the LDA is ensuring that London remains an economic success."
The investment will also include the extension of the Dockland Light Railway to Beckton, in the borough of Newham.
Last month Mayor Boris Johnson called for the government to make it easier for small businesses to win public sector contracts.
