Dagenham flower show edges closer
Keen horticulturalists in the East End are being invited to take part in this year's Dagenham in Bloom Competition.
The content aims to give recognition to the most colourful and intricately-designed floral arrangements in the London borough of Barking & Dagenham.
All gardeners with displays on domestic premises or community gardens are eligible to enter the competition, with nominations already pouring in for the Front Garden, Container and Hanging Baskets Awards.
A special Community Garden Award is also up for grabs, with entries being accepted from community centres, schools, day centres, places of worship and all forms of sheltered accommodation.
In addition to winning a modest cash prize, the top-performing gardeners will be invited to put their displays forward for the prestigious city-wide London in Bloom competition.
People with property for sale in Dagenham might also be interested in a recent report by BBC, which advised that having a well-kempt garden can significantly boost the marketability of a dwelling.
