Circle Line to be extended to Hammersmith
The frequency of London Underground trains between Hammersmith and Edgware Road is set to double as a result of changes to the Circle Line.
Transport for London has announced that the service will be extended to Hammersmith, in the borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, from December of this year.
Chief operating officer of London Underground Howard Collins explained that the move will help reduce delays, as the nature of the Circle Line means that it is disrupted if there are problems on the routes it shares tracks with.
Residents are set to benefit from the introduction of a start and end point, he noted, adding: "The changes to service patterns
will improve the reliability of the line, enabling services to recover more quickly if there is a disruption."
TFL recently announced that new Tube maps have been created, providing passengers with greater information about toilet facilities and step-free access.
