Cable car and liner terminal headed for Greenwich?
Two new developments have been approved that could boost the attractiveness of flats to rent in the London borough of Greenwich.
A cable car link spanning the Thames - the first of its kind in the country - and the first cruise liner terminal on the river were given the green light by Greenwich Council.
The cable car link, which was proposed by Transport for London and will connect the Greenwich Peninsula to the Royal Victoria Dock in Newham, is now subject to final approval from the Greater London Authority.
In addition, the cruise liner terminal and the 251-bed hotel connected to the project will go before the Mayor of London's office.
Both developments are intended to be completed by the start of the 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, subject to approval.
Chris Roberts, leader of Greenwich Council, commented: "This is good news for the people of Greenwich and both schemes will further contribute to the economic growth and regeneration of the area."
Last month, residents and those in flats to rent in the London borough of Greenwich saw their transport options further enhanced when it was confirmed that more than a dozen electric car charge points are to be installed in the area.
