Ask landlords 'about insulating flats to rent in London'
People looking at flats to rent in the London borough of Ealing can still ensure their homes are cosy and warm during the winter months.
This is according to Julian Troake, energy surveyor and spokesperson for the Home Heat Helpline, who explained those who are privately renting a property can contact their landlord about insulating the abode.
If people are over the age of 70, they can do this free of charge, he explained, urging tennants to act now ready for the colder months ahead.
"Keep your house insulated before the mad rush comes to insulate your home, don't wait," Mr Troake stated.
Not only could this keep Brits warm, but he said it may also help them to save up to £265 every year on their fuel bills.
His comments come after the Fuel Poverty Advisory Group predicted a 50 per cent rise in the cost of energy after it increased by 125 per cent over the past six years.
