Access to Parliament Square to be improved
Access to Parliament Square is to be improved, people living in property to rent in the London borough of Westminster have learned.
Westminster Council has announced that it is to install a new pedestrian crossing in the area.
It will stretch from the traffic island on St Margaret's Street between Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament to the south-east corner of the square.
The crossing will allow people to get closer to the statues in the square and enable them to take better pictures of the Palace of Westminster.
Colin Barrow, leader of Westminster Council, said: "By installing this crossing we believe we are helping to … [provide] a safe way to access the square rather than a sprint across several lanes of traffic."
Earlier this week, young people in the area, which could include some of those living in property to rent in the London borough of Westminster, voted 12-year-old Omar Archer as their new youth MP.
