'What tenants should expect'
A property website has listed some of the processes anyone renting out a house in the UK should follow - tips that tenants may find noteworthy before signing any agreements.
Hip-consultant.co.uk said that landlords should show customers around the property at the start of any contract so that the initial state of the house or flat is recorded by both parties.
Whether this involves residents of flats to rent in Croydon or property to rent in Hounslow, following this procedure can prevent disputes at the end of a tenancy when deposits are due to be paid back.
People living in rented property should also have to sign a contract that indicates how money will be deducted from their deposits if they cause damage to the property they are residing in, the website stated.
Last month, the new board director of the National Landlords Association, Sussanne Chambers, said it is her target to help the private rented sector offer the highest standard of customer service.
