Wandsworth passengers 'could be better served'
Despite funding being invested in a new entrance at Clapham Junction station, commuters heading home to flats to rent in Wandsworth could have a better service, said Guy Senior, a spokesman for Wandsworth Council's transportation.
"Without extra funding there is a danger that a real opportunity to improve passenger conditions at the station will be lost," said Mr Senior, as news emerged that the council was setting aside £300,000 to build a new entrance at Brighton Yard to relieve traffic in the station subway.
Mr Senior added that the Council had been pressing Network Rail "for years" to open the new entrance and that although it won't solve all congestion problems, it would provide commuters "an easy alternative to the current overcrowded entrance".
Tenants of flats to rent in Wandsworth are also served by Brighton Yard Car Park, a parking facility located by Clapham Junction station on St John's Hill.
