Wandsworth first-time buyers set to gain help
Those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth are soon to gain help getting onto the property ladder.
This is one of the promises made by the new leader of Wandsworth Council, Ravi Govindia.
He said he will lead a "radical reform" of housing in the area by giving greater priority to working households.
Mr Govindia also vowed to encourage more Free Schools to be created in deprived parts of the borough.
"I want parents to have the choice about which school to send their child and I want to find ways of letting more homes on local estates to people who are working to encourage self-help and investment in the local economy," he said.
Mr Govindia was formally appointed leader of the council on Wednesday May 18th.
On the same night, West Putney ward councillor Jane Cooper was appointed to serve as Mayor of Wandsworth for the next 12 months.
