Wandsworth Council offers help to local businesses
Wandsworth Council has announced that businesses operating in the London borough are to be given advice on how best to cope during the economic downturn.
A Beat the Credit Crunch seminar is being organised by the Balham Town Centre Partnership, offering guidance to ensure firms continue to grow and increase sales during the recession.
Regeneration spokesman at the council James Cousins explained that next week's event is part of a series of free coaching opportunities being provided this year.
"Times are hard for small business and there is a growing demand for advice on how to cope with these difficult trading conditions," he said, adding that the borough is also working to help local companies secure council contracts.
Wandsworth Council recently noted that the borough's residents currently pay the lowest council tax in the UK, with a freeze this year maintaining a band D property's rate at £682 per year.
