Vulnerable homeowners 'risk losing their home'
People considering looking for property to rent in London may be interested in the suggestion that the coalition government must provide support for homeowners in its emergency Budget, in order to prevent them losing their home.
This is the view of Adrian Coles, director-general of the Building Societies Association, who outlined what his organisation felt should be included in the speech, which takes place on June 22nd.
He described the backdrop for this announcement by new chancellor George Osborne as one of "highly challenging economic conditions".
Mr Coles called for a restructure of stamp duty to stop price bunching just below the threshold for different rates and a revision of the current scheme including the Support for Mortgage Interest Initiative.
This follows recent figures from the Land Registry, Nationwide and Halifax all indicating house prices have risen significantly over the past year.
Suggestions that vulnerable homeowners at are risk of losing their home may encourage more people to consider looking for property to rent in the London borough of Hounslow or elsewhere in the country.
