Richmond-upon-Thames 'an oasis of charm'
Just 15 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Central London, Richmond-upon-Thames is an oasis of calm right in the heart of the British capital.
Featuring its own village-style identity, Richmond is full of things to do and places to see, as well as being a historically favourite spot for the Royal family.
Several of the capital's great beauty spots are here, most notably The Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
It is filled with elegant pagodas, stunning conservatories and a magnificent range of plants and flowers.
Also in the borough is the 500-year-old Hampton Court Palace, the favourite haunt of the flamboyant Henry VIII and home to lovely riverside gardens and a world famous maze.
Richmond Park, London's largest green space, is also here with its 2,500 acres of hills, woodlands and grassland, giving visitors stunning views across the capital.
It is also a place that large herds of red and fallow deer call home and it was designated as a National Nature Reserve in 2000.
For sporting enthusiasts, Twickenham, the citadel of English Rugby, is just down the road.
Attractions aside, Richmond is a fantastic place to live, bursting with great places to eat and drink and a plethora of delightful streets in which to reside.
There are bars and restaurants along the Thames, for those who enjoy being by the capital's iconic river, while Richmond Green has all sorts of fantastic culinary alternatives in tranquil surroundings.
Getting to and from the area is extremely easy, thanks to the excellent train and bus links and Tube Stations at Richmond and Kew Gardens.
Heathrow Airport is just around the corner too, making it very straightforward to head off on a quick weekend break or business trip.
The area is also home to a wide selection of events, from jazz festivals to cinema screenings and outdoor markets.
Overall, this is a part of London that has a small town feel right on the doorstep of the big city.
With such great attractions and areas of natural beauty on offer, it is hard to think of anywhere better for people interested in property to rent in London to hang their hat.
