Purley set to host poetry extravaganza
Poetry aficionados living in property to rent in the London borough of Croydon might want to head to the Poetry in Purley event on March 19th.
Held at the Banstead Road library, the event will run from 14:00 to 16:00 GMT and is being hosted by local group Poets Anonymous.
Everyone is welcome at the afternoon of readings, which will see people living in flats to rent in the London borough of Croydon given the opportunity to perform their own poems, as well as listen to those of others.
Councillor Sarah Bashford, cabinet member for customer services, culture and sport, said: "This sort of community activity does a great deal to bring together people who have a common interest and often results in the forming of new friendships."
Recently, Croydon Council announced council tax would be frozen in the borough this year, despite the significant budget cuts faced in the area.
