Property to rent in Richmond-upon-Thames: Exciting plans in Hampton North
People could find an additional reason to move to property to rent in the London borough of Richmond-upon-Thames, after the council announced an "exciting new prospect" in the area.
Richmond Council revealed that Hampton North will become the borough's first 'uplift zone', which means it will be given the resources needed to rejuvenate its town centre with shops, cafes and other desired facilities.
Councillor Virginia Morris, cabinet member for environment and planning at the authority, said: "Our vision for Hampton North is to work with local people and businesses to invigorate this corner of our borough by creating a focal point for the community."
She added that the project's aim is to establish a 'Hampton Square', which connects different parts of the borough, and encourage local business owners to launch ventures such as pubs and restaurants.
Deputy council leader Geoffrey Samuel added that the Hampton Square initiative could eventually see people in property to rent in the London borough of Richmond-upon-Thames benefit from additional bank branches or post offices.
This month, it was announced that Richmond-upon-Thames will represent London in the 2011 Britain in Bloom competition for the first time.
