Plans for part of Richmond upon Thames revealed
Development plans for an area close to property to rent in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames have been revealed.
If approved by council officials, the plans will see the disused Avenue Centre on Normansfield Avenue, Teddington, demolished.
The proposals also suggest that private housing and a new care home should be built on the site.
Lord Nicholas True, leader of Richmond Council, explained that the Avenue Centre has been neglected for four years.
"This land which the council owns could be put to much better use to serve the local community and enhance the area. It is frequently vandalised and costs us a good deal to secure," he added.
The development plans will be considered by the council at a meeting today (June 23rd).
Earlier this month, ideas for the future of Twickenham were put on display to be viewed by those living in flats to rent in the London borough of Richmond upon Thames and other types of property in the area.
