Parents in flats to rent in Hounslow could have their say on schools
Parents - such as those occupying flats to rent in the London borough of Hounslow - have been given the chance to have their say on the future decisions taken by the council regarding schools.
Councillor Ruth Cadbury, deputy leader of Hounslow Council, stated that by gauging individuals' thoughts on key areas of education policy, the council hopes to gain consensus and generate new ideas about how to use resources effectively.
"The views of parents and other residents in Hounslow, our schools and other stakeholders are central to the formation of an effective school place planning strategy," she added.
People who would like to take part in the consultation have until the start of December to give their views on issues such as single-sex schools, faith places of learning and the maximum size of a secondary or primary establishment.
Earlier this month, an article in the Harrow Observer reported the £4.5 billion development of a new town on the border of Brent would lead to the creation of new schools, homes and transport links, in addition to 27,000 jobs.
