New library for tenants of property to rent in Wandsworth
A new library has opened in the south-west London borough of Wandsworth.
Tenants of property to rent in Wandsworth now have a new facility where they can access ordinary and talking books, magazines, newspapers and computers.
Free internet and Wi-Fi are available as well as an area dedicated to study and a place for teenagers to meet, along with a children's library that will host activities for youngsters.
While the new library is now open, it will be officially launched in October by Boris Johnson, the mayor of London.
Sarah McDermott, a Wandsworth Councillor, predicted that it would become "one of the busiest libraries in the borough".
Residents of property to rent in Wandsworth can also take part in a literary festival next month.
Waterstones and the Clapham Junction Town Centre Partnership have arranged the SW11 Literary Festival, which lasts for a month.
Activities will include book signings and writing workshops.
