HSE launches workplace safety campaign
A campaign has been launched to improve the safety of London workplaces.
Those living and working in the capital could be set to benefit if employers take on the advice of the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Statistics from the body revealed that slips, trips and falls have been causing injuries across the country and although there were just 79 instances in Richmond-upon-Thames, other boroughs have experienced more problems.
Head of the injury reduction programme at the HSE Marcia Davies noted that increasing awareness is intended to prompt businesses to make changes.
"People often view slips, trips and falls as trivial incidents, even comical, but they are no joke to those who suffer major injuries," she remarked.
Last month Richmond-upon-Thames Council revealed that its emission-related parking charge scheme may be extended, in order to further improve the environment for those living in the borough by increasing the levy on the most-polluting vehicles.
