Eco-grants to provide funding to Wandsworth residents
Eco-grants are still available for Wandsworth residents who want to embrace greener principles.
The council has a £5,000 kitty to dish out to anyone who can come up with good green ideas.
Green schemes can cover anything from ways to reduce waste, to increasing recycling, through cutting the consumption of energy or resources and improving the quality of the local environment.
The residents have until May 14th to apply for the Eco Fund.
Wandsworth Council says: "Successful applicants will need to demonstrate the effectiveness of their scheme and it will need to be something that can be copied by others and which has an impact beyond their own household."
Successful applications in the past have seen composting equipment purchased for the Roehampton University halls of residence while a local school, Wix Primary School, got a potting shed.
People living in flats to rent in London borough of Wandsworth might like to join together to present proposals that benefit more than one household.
Wandsworth is situated in South-West London on the south bank of the Thames.
