East Croydon station to gain new entrance
Those moving to property to rent in the London borough of Croydon will soon benefit from an improved entrance at the busy East Croydon station.
Croydon Council is part-funding the construction of a footbridge that will form the new concourse entrance at the station, with an investment of around £10 million.
Part of this money will also be used to add ten more vehicles to the 28km Tramlink network.
Council leader Mike Fisher said: "Several major public and private sector projects are already under way [in Croydon], more are in the pipeline and investors are increasingly confident that the council is creating the right conditions for the town to take off."
He went on to suggest that investing a large sum in providing extra trams will help the area to prosper.
Currently, 24 tram units operate on the Tramlink network's three lines, connecting a number of areas in South London including Croydon and Wimbledon.
