Croydon development issues to be discussed at November conference
Measures to improve conditions for those seeking or occupying flats to rent in Croydon are to be outlined at the Develop Croydon conference this month.
To be held on November 22nd 2011 at Fairfield Halls, the event will be attended by London mayor Boris Johnson, who will outline plans for new investments in the area, reports This Is Croydon Today.
Croydon has been named as an Opportunity Area in plans previously revealed by Mr Johnson, offering the potential to create up to 8,000 new homes and 5,000 additional jobs.
Millions of pounds of funding are to be diverted to the region to regenerate the town and bolster its growth prospects, thus helping to make it a better place than it was prior to the August riots.
Mr Johnson said: "We can not only restore Croydon town centre but create a better, more prosperous place to live, work and invest in."
Other speakers at the conference will include UK Regeneration director Paul Evans, with last year's event having been hailed a success after attracting nearly 200 attendees.
