Balham guide highlights area's 'hidden treats'
A new guide to the 'hidden' Balham has been published, which may benefit people in flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth.
The pocket-sized guide, which includes a fold-out map, has been produced by the town's business community and displays the location of every attraction in the local area.
Sarah McDermott, executive member for environment and culture at Wandsworth Council, described Balham as a "delightful place", adding that the town has a wealth of shops, health spas, cafes, pubs, bars and restaurants.
"The new guide will help more people to get the most out of their visit and discover the hidden places that make the area so special," Ms McDermott commented.
People living in flats to rent in the London borough of Wandsworth and visitors to the area can obtain copies of the guide at Balham Library, the town's leisure centre, its railway station and many local shops.
This month, the Exhibit Cinema in Balham will be showing a selection of short films made by local directors. The pieces will be screened before certain features.
