Tottenham Partnership steps up regeneration
Local officials in north London's Tottenham district have launched a new drive to involve local residents in regeneration of the area.
As part of the Tottenham Partnership initiative, local residents are to have a greater say in determining how to spend money put aside by the council for major construction projects and funding schemes.
Members of the public are also being invited to register their opinions on what priorities councillors should be focusing on, with a particular emphasis being placed on drumming up pride in development of local landmarks such as Tottenham Hotspur's White Hart Lane stadium.
Gary Ince, chief executive of North London Business, said that the area is undergoing rapid transformation and he emphasised the broad appeal of the area to prospective residents and businesses.
"As Tottenham acquires a positive image, the area's excellent location, transport infrastructure and low average property prices will certainly place Tottenham in a very competitive position within the national and international business scenario," he told the Tottenham Journal.
