Cricklewood regeneration moves a step closer
Development plans for the Cricklewood regeneration project have been formally submitted to Barnet Council.
If approved, the proposals will see north London undergo one of the largest regeneration drives in its history, with some £4.5 billion being pumped into residential, commercial and public development.
As part of the 323-acre project a brand new high-street will be developed in the district, linking Cricklewood with the neighbouring Brent Cross shopping centre and providing access to all major local rail stations.
It will also entail the construction of some 7,500 new homes - many of them affordable - as well as three new schools and an unspecified number of open spaces, including high-quality parks.
Barnet Council now has a number of weeks to review the project before the proposals are publicly exhibited next month and feedback is invited from local residents about the project.
The plans were jointly drawn up by Hammerson, Standard Life Investments and Brookfield Europe - formerly known as Multiplex.
