Area Comments
Wonderfully quiet, green and with its property still up and coming and affordable, Palmers Green, to the north of Wood Green, is like its southerly neighbour multicultural and friendly.
Palmers Green, with its large houses and excellent access, is popular with growing families and couples, and is seeing a distinct move of people from areas like Muswell Hill and Crouch End as its charms together with lower prices attract them. Property here is becoming well known, as the area offers truly prodigious Victorian terraces, most of which have lovely gardens. There are also a huge range of excellent flats as many of the Edwardian houses have been subdivided. But it's the grand Victorian houses which are bringing the affluent families looking for space.
The area is now excellent for resources beyond houses themselves; the Palmers Green Shopping Centre provides a wide range of choice; the train station is good not just for access but a weekly farmers' market. As the affluent chattering classes take hold here, cafes and little eateries are also burgeoning, with the Waiting Room Cafe (featuring an ad hoc art gallery) a local favourite.
Rapidly becoming Muswell Hill East, Palmers Green is now a thriving mix of old and new, and its prodigious houses and excellent gardens are only two of the many reasons to come here.
